What Does a Phlebotomist Do?

Phlebotomy Technicians are healthcare professionals trained in drawing blood from patients for medical testing, transfusions, or donations. Phlebotomists work in hospitals, laboratories, and blood donation centers, where they use their specialized skills to ensure safe and accurate blood collection. In addition to blood draws, phlebotomists are trained in specimen handling, labeling, and maintaining patient comfort during the process.

You’ll receive hands-on training in venipuncture techniques, capillary punctures, and specimen processing. Graduates are well-prepared to take the national certification exam and begin their careers as professional phlebotomists.

Our Phlebotomy Program offers both daytime and evening sessions to accommodate your schedule. The program is a total of 4 weeks, with the option of an externship after 4 week class. See our upcoming sessions on our website .

Deposit: A $475 deposit is required to reserve your seat in the course.

Course Materials

Students are responsible for providing the following items:

  • Clinical Uniform:

    • Black scrub top and pants

    • Closed-toe shoes (NO CROCS)

  • Health Requirements:

    • Recent TB skin test

    • Flu Vaccine (October-May)

    • NOTE: An approved mask may be required if the flu vaccine is declined.

  • Technology:

    • Laptop or Tablet (Loaner devices are available upon request for in-classroom use)

Enrollment Requirements

To enroll in the Phlebotomy program, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
